An Exclusive Interview with CyberCandace
May 19, 2022
Cyber Candace sits down with Cam101 to spill the tea on all things camming.

Entering the adult industry four years ago, you can now find CyberCandace exclusively camming on Streamate. This wasn’t always the case, as she began her career working on MyFreeCams (MFC). She recently sat down with Cam101 to talk about her journey to get where she is today, tips she would give new performers, and how she got into domming.

What led you to make the switch from MFC to Streamate?

The biggest difference between MFC and Streamate is that MFC, similar to Chaturbate, is community-based and people tend to go there for company. Streamate, on the other hand, is more sexual in nature and also kinkier. When I started on MFC I was a submissive, sometimes a switch, and would describe myself as a masochist. It was actually when I went over to Streamate that I received a lot of requests for jerk-off instructions or small penis humiliations and started to get into the domme side of things – and I love it! As a new model, you’re a bit nervous to direct the shows or guide them in a certain direction. In that sense, it is easier to be submissive and be told what to do. I am not saying it is easy to be a sub by any means, but when you’re a domme you have to take control of your show and you’re the director.

How did you gain confidence as a domme?

When I first started domming, I would ask a lot of questions, and I wouldn’t be very certain of things and the shows wouldn’t last very long. Whereas now I go for it and members either leave the show, which is fine, or they will say they aren’t into something. I find it’s much better that I move it in a certain direction and have them say no to particular things rather than me asking questions, as that takes away from the ‘dommeness’.

Could you talk about a particularly memorable or exciting show you have had?

I believe it was for my birthday and it was so much fun! I had set up a bunch of games and people were non-stop tipping. That night I made the most in camming in one single show and also received the biggest one-off tip from a member. The largest one-off tip was from a member who I had known basically since I started camming and he told me to set a high goal for something incredibly ridiculous. In response, I set a goal to do an upside-down blow job. Which, in my head, I didn’t think about the mechanics of how I was going to achieve it because I didn’t think such a high goal would be met. He cleared it in one tip and I ended up doing a crab yoga pose with a dildo on the floor and gave the dildo a blow job. Altogether, money-wise it was my best show and it was also a ton of silly fun which was great.

How do you deal with slow nights or little-to-no engagement during shows?

Over the four years I have been camming, this still happens. There have been times when I have logged on and made 17 cents in an hour. You can have bad weeks, not just bad shows, and that is just the reality. Now, I notice my mental state greatly affects my work. If I go in and I am excited to be there and engaging, my shows will generally do better. If I am stressed out or tired and I try to cam, people can pick up on it. The best way I deal with it is by giving myself time off or by taking breaks from camming. I am better off taking a day or week off to recharge, because when I am in a better mental state, I make more money.

What advice would you give to beginners that have just started camming?

The money will come. There is something that I always say to new models – that there is something called the two-month slump. That’s because I have gone through it, and I have seen other models go through it. When you first join a site, you generally get a one-week or two-week new tag and have a lot of people excited that you are there as a new model. After that you still have some people coming to see you who caught you during that beginner time, but then in about 2 months it tends to slump off as you are no longer considered ‘new’. That period is the hardest time and if you can make it through that 2-month slump then you will be a successful cam model. That’s where you can develop what kind of cam model you are and what makes you unique and your success will be based off of who you are rather than a new face on the site.
