how does the CB banlist work? ban list over 4k on CB.
ive been streaming on and off (more so on in the last year) for over seven years on CB. my ban list is over 4k users, majority of which are from 4-6 years ago.
anyone else have over 4k of a ban list? (this is including "we have also banned users possibly connected to other banned usernames) for me this seems insanely huge but idk!
it doesn't seem to slow/stop new rude people. im wondering if im blocking IPs from places people dont even live anymore and realized idk how the ban even works.
If you want to clean up your profile, you can remove old bans every six months through the profile settings (Chaturbate → Settings → Privacy & Blocking). However, this will not affect the flow of new people.
Seven years of streaming — that's a lot of experience, and a big ban list kind of comes with the territory. CB bans are generally username-based rather than IP-based, which is why you still see new accounts popping up. The "connected usernames" entries are CB's system trying to catch alt accounts based on things like IP or browser fingerprints, but it's not perfect. Eva's suggestion to do a periodic cleanup through Settings is a good move. It won't stop new trolls, but at least it keeps things tidy on your end. Unfortunately dealing with rude viewers is just part of the job — having a quick ban trigger and moving on is the best approach.
