It's not forcing Windows, it's responding to market share.

Globally as of Aug 2025, Windows has 71%, Mac has 16%, Linux only has 4%, Chrome has 2% and the remainder divided up on more eclectic OS's

Quite simple really.

OBS runs in Linux, Chromium or other derivate browsers work in Linux, why not StreamMaster?

Sorry, but without going deep into sw dev, dev and support teams I must refer back to my original answer.
