#Tech help Live Streaming System Requirements

Hello Community,

I asked this question in my last post, but the answer that I was given didn’t contain the information I was looking for.

I need a laptop, but don’t know which one to get. What are the required laptop specifications for webcam modeling?

Most people pick a Windows laptop that is suitable for gaming. You'd want an Intel i5 or better (or AMD equivalent), 16GB or RAM or more, an SSD hard drive, and a good graphics card. Apple MacBook M1/M2 based laptops also work.

Do NOT get a Chromebook, most software is not supported on those.

Hey! Be aware though, that if you want to work on sites like Jasmin, they don't support their cam software for Macbook M1. I'm not sure for M2, but for M1 that's for sure. They said they are working on it., but I don't see too much friction going on that direction since the majority of the models are using Windows systems.

If you want to stream 4K your need a 4K screen (you could ofc attach that with hdmi to your laptop), i7/i9 is best to have atleast, 16gb ram atleast, I own a Dell XPS 15 9520, my old laptop overheated cause of camming, that was Lenovo Yoga 14.
